Temperatures: Moderate and consistent year-round, with daytime temperatures averaging between 22°C and 27°C (72°F – 81°F).
Altitude Effect: The higher altitudes, such as in the Virunga Mountains and around Volcanoes National Park, are cooler, with temperatures occasionally dropping below 10°C (50°F).

Rwanda experiences four distinct seasons based on rainfall:
- Short Dry Season (December to February):
Warm temperatures and minimal rainfall.
Ideal for outdoor activities and gorilla trekking.
- Long Rainy Season (March to May):
Heavy rainfall, especially in April.
Lush vegetation and fewer tourists, making it a good time for budget travel.
Roads to remote areas may become muddy and challenging.
